Welcome to the APORS 97 Program web pages. If you plan to attend the conference we suggest that you visit these pages regularly to check on latest news concerning the technical program.
Since we have not charged abstract fee, we expect a significant number of cancellations. This in turn will require us to reschedule some of the sessions. Therefore we recommend that you read the entries in the Log of Changes regularly.
If you plan to present an invited paper, make sure that you are in e-mail contact with the Stream/Session Organiser to hear the latest news concerning your stream/session.
Should you decide to cancel your presentation, we would greatly appreciate it if you would let us know about it as soon as possible.
And if you are a student, we would like to encourage you to participate in the Student Papers Competition ($500 in cash).

General Information

Most presentations will be 30 minutes long (25 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion)
Some presentations will be shorter, depending on the length of the session (1.5 or 2 hours) and the number of presentations scheduled for the session.
If no chairperson is explicitly designated for a session, then the last author present will act as chairperson.
Each presentation should adhere to its designated time even if the previous presentation was cancelled.
The standard audio-visual equipment is over head projector. Only under special circumstances - to be arranged ahead of time - will the Technical Program Committee consider providing other equipment.

Student Papers Competition

Students (undergraduate as well as graduate) presenting papers in the conference are encouraged to participate in the $AUD 500 Student Paper Competition. The presentations participating in this competition will be scheduled in suitable (topic-wise) contributed sessions and will be evaluated by a team judges.

Joint authorship (with a supervisor) is allowed, but the presentation must be given by the student.

The winner will be announced during the conference.

Persons interested in participating in this exciting event should contact the Program Committee by e-mail and provide the required information: (name of student, title of presentation, and ID number of abstract.
